Earthquake Relief Team Blog 9: Can We Ever Do Enough?
April 29, 2010 by Hannah McLear
Part of the EHIH relief team is returning to Atlanta on Saturday and another part of the team will remain in Haiti for a few days to transition their efforts to others associated with EHIH. While the efforts of the EHIH relief team have resulted in amazing stories of compassion and healing, there is a feeling that they cannot do enough. The patient count on Friday was an estimated 300+ and the crowd outside the gym seemed to grow from previous days. Jonathan S., a 4th grade student at Greater Atlanta Christian School, gave a contribution to the relief effort and with it came a note that read as follows: “To the people of Haiti, Life is like climbing a mountain. You will face many challenges but when you reach the top of the mountain, you will be rewarded. And even though you feel surrounded by darkness, God will by your light.” May these words from Jonathan be an encouragement to the wonderful people of Haiti and also to the EHIH relief team as some come home and others continue the work in Cap Haitien. And remember the Lord we serve is the same Lord that turned five loaves of bread and two fish into a feast for five thousand. We can never do enough on our own, but with God all things are possible.
